  Landowner Programs

Idaho USDA Conservation Programs

The following is a list of natural resource conservation programs that are generally available in the Butte SWCD.  The programs are managed by Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS).  For details go to NRCS - Idaho web-site by clicking here or on the link below.  You may also contact the conservation district.

  • Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) - Administered by Farm Service Agency.

  • Emergency Watershed Protection Program (EWP)

  • Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP)

  • Forestry Incentives Program (FIP)

  • Stewardship Incentive Program (WHIP)

  • Conservation of Private Grazing Land Program (CPGL)

  • Resource Conservation Development Program (RC&D)

  • Plant Materials Center at Aberdeen

  • Outreach for Socially Disadvantaged Farmers

  • Snow Surveys and Water Supply Forecasts

State Programs

      Technical Assistance

Technical assistance is provided to assist land users, communities, units of state and local government, tribes and other federal agencies in planning and implementing conservation systems to:

  • Reduce erosion

  • Improve soil and water quality

  • Improve and conserve wildlife

  • Improve air quality

  • Improve pasture and range condition

  • Reduce upstream flooding

  • Improve woodlands

NRCS assistance to individuals is provided through conservation districts in accordance with a mutual agreement signed by the Secretary of Agriculture, Governor of Idaho, and each conservation district.  Assistance is provided to land users voluntarily applying conservation and to those who much comply with local and State laws and regulations.

Land users may choose to use the new Technical Service Provider Program where they select someone within the private sector to provide assistance on conservation planning.
